Effective partnerships and collaboration are crucial for the success of development initiatives and achieving sustainable outcomes. The Tax Administration Diagnostic Assessment Tool (TADAT) provides a standardized framework to assess the performance of tax administrations, creating opportunities for informed dialogue and cooperation among stakeholders.

The IMF and the World Bank jointly hosted a Training for 92 World Bank staff ( from November 3rd  to7th , 2025). This workshop is the first on the new TADAT Field Guide 2025, marking a major step forward in strengthening tax administrations worldwide.

Katherine Baer, Deputy Director of the IMF’s Fiscal Affairs Department, highlighted that TADAT is truly a collective effort—a public international good that reflects collaboration across institutions and partners. She underscored the successful cooperation between the IMF and the World Bank in advancing effective and resilient tax systems.

Tuan Minh Le, Lead Economist at the World Bank, welcomed participants on behalf of the Global Department of Economic Policy. He highlighted the value of this training for World Bank colleagues, noting that over 90 participants were engaging to strengthen their expertise and pursue accreditation.

Modeste Mopa, Head of the TADAT Secretariat, thanked the World Bank for its close collaboration throughout the Field Guide revision process. He added that this initiative is a key step toward finalizing the new guide and launching its pilot assessment. Modeste highlighted the importance of multi-agency collaboration and the World Bank’s vital role in expanding the pool of qualified assessors to ensure consistent, high-quality evaluations across institutions.
